Rock drummer Roger Pope is dead at 66.

From Whitestable, U.K., Roger was found dead on September 16th. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the cause of death is unknown, and he died in a nursing home south of England. He is survived by his wife Sue.

Pope had a long career playing with some of music’s greats. He played on six Elton John albums, worked with Daryl Hall and John Oates, sat with Buddy Guy, and drummed on several albums for Harry Nilsson in the ’70s.
